New members are always welcome! Join or renew membership. The Beach Preservation Society stays involved in the Oak Island community year-round. The Society has its annual Wine Tasting fundraiser in the spring, has a booth some weeks at the Farmers Market, hosts educational programs, stages Spring & Fall Beach Sweeps, organizes programs for children and families and participates in community events. The more we attempt to do the more we need your help. There are so many ways you can lend a hand. Many are listed below and you probably have other ideas of ways you would like to help. Just let us know what you would like to do by completing the form below.

Board Member

  • Officers, project managers

  • Support for activities

Beach Access Parent

  • Keep parking and beach area clean

  • Report maintenance needs

Volunteer Coordinator

  • Recruit and schedule for events and tasks

Event Leader/Assistant - behind the scenes

  • Contact members without email

  • Hospitality: Plan, shop, set up, serve, clean up refreshments

  • Follow up with event participants [thanks, surveys, etc]

Event Leader/Assistant - public interaction

  • Earth Day (April)

  • Farmers Market (Summer dates)

  • Fundraising events: auction, raffle, wine tasting
